Yan is an interdisciplinary architectural designer/set designer/researcher/filmmaker. She is interested in multidisciplinary storytelling and addressing challenges facing our cities today to facilitate spatial dialogue. Yan held a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Performing and Media Arts from Cornell University. Her work experience entails experiential place-making design and strategy, research, and curation in international studios such as OMA, Mosaic Design and SOM. Her multimedia work focuses on bridging East-West, feminism, Chinese folk belief space, performance and media studies on social unrest, and city infrastructure.
